BREAKING AND ENTERING is a multi-media collaboration with visual artist Arjuna Neuman plucking at the threads linking war, sexuality and pornography. Neuman's installation, conceived in response to an original text written by Leah, emphasizes the alienating effects of the media and the consumer culture through which our sensibility to conflict is muted. As the installation is transformed from a purgatorial space with the threat of action into a theatrical space—a place of action—the unfolding questions the way we experience war, the relationship between the procreative and destructive act, and the idea that the horrors of war appear to be kept in balance by distraction and self-soothing. Installation and performance took place at Human Resources in Los Angeles in 2012.
