UPCOMING WORKSHOPS:

Voice Lab: Embodied Vocal Techniques for Movers with Kestrel Farin Leah

Tuesday December 12, 2023 17:00-20:00 Dancehouse Lefkosia

An all-levels workshop offering tools for freer, more supported vocalization—for dancers working with voice and performers or vocalists who move. A constellation of corporeal exercises, based on the psychophysical practices of Theodoros Terzopoulos and integrating principles from contemporary dance and somatic techniques, connects functions of body, breath and voice and touches upon paralinguistics, text and song through play and improvisation. Approaching the voice as pnevma—both breath and spirit—we work to release tension, cultivate presence, and unearth the naturally free voices we were born with.

Nea Kinisi Fall Classes Limassol Municipal Dance Centre

Kestrel is offering 90-minute mini-workshops as part of Nea Kinisi’s program of professional dance classes. In these all-levels classes, we work to release tension and inhibitions while touching on basic tools that support the production of voice while moving. Through play, imagination and improvisation, we develop a sensual and spontaneous relationship between sound and movement and strengthen the collaboration of body and voice.

Visit the Nea Kinisi schedule for upcoming classes and class registration.
